About Terrence D. Sims
Terrence D. Sims is a Spirit-filled pastor, theologian, and author whose ministry calls believers to live with their eyes wide open to God’s radical love and justice.
His journey into ministry began in December 2001, when he accepted his call with a deep conviction that faith must be lived out with courage, compassion, and clarity. Since then, Terrence has served the church with a prophetic voice that challenges performance-driven religion and invites people into freedom rooted in God’s unconditional love.
Within the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Terrence was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in 2005 and elevated to Itinerant Elder in 2014. His commitment to preaching and teaching led him to earn a Master of Divinity from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in 2023, where he received the Philip Wendell Crannell Award for Excellence in Preaching.
Most recently, Terrence served as pastor of Bethel AME Church of Fontana. From August 2021 to September 2025, the church experienced rapid spiritual and numerical growth as members embraced a deeper understanding of God’s “careful love” and their call to justice and community transformation.
Terrence’s debut book, Eyes Wide Open, reflects the heart of his ministry—helping believers see God clearly so they can love without limits and live courageously. Through biblical teaching, liberation theology, and personal testimony, he reveals how God’s radical love reshapes how we see ourselves, others, and the world.
Whether preaching, writing, or mentoring, Terrence is committed to helping the Church live with clarity, freedom, and purpose.
